You have to get up to get down. Downhill mountain bike parks in our part of the country take full advantage of everything the Appalachian mountains have to offer. Rugged, steep, technical, and FAST. Berm your heart out with pristine groomed runs while you race your friends to the shuttle...and do it all over again.

Beech Mountain
Explore the intricate Beech Mountain Resort mountain biking trails and find out why it is often utilized for National Championship races. The terrain offers something for intermediate to advanced riders.
Intermediate riders will find friendly and manageable features while advanced riders will love the steep and technical, with lots of rock, tricky corners and technical wood descents.
The lift accommodates up to four riders per chair and offers the opportunity to easily self-load and un-load bikes, minimizing rough handling and unnecessary wear. Plus, enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the mountain as you ride up to the highest bike park in the east at 5,506 feet elevation.

Bikers have the ability to ride a climbing trail with a gentle grade, while taking in the sights and scents of Kanuga’s old growth forest. Kanuga support and encourage the use of eBikes, to increase access and spend more time in the fun zone going down.

Sugar Mountain
The rebuilt and expanded bike park includes its signature expert terrain and newly built intermediate trails. Varying line option choices from the summit to the base include rollers, small dips, table tops, and other fun features. Always observe all signs and beware of trail maintenance as the park is always expanding.

Snowshoe Mountain
With nearly 40 trails and 1,500 vertical feet of descent, Snowshoe has thrills for the first time rider, pro downhillers, cross country lovers and everyone in between.
Snowshoe also has the best progressive riding experience in the USA, with actual beginner trails that allow riders to gain confidence before heading to the intermediate trails and beyond. Truly something for everyone!
Bountiful other activities for the non riders mean the whole family can make the trip and have a blast. By far one of our favorite places on earth (and totally worth the drive).

Berm Park
Berm Park’s area is about ten acres in the 450 acre park, and there will be more trails above the park on Chestnut Mountain. These trails are more natural, and riders can pedal further up the mountain, take them back down, and then end in one of Berm Park’s flow trails. Some will still be bike only, and others will be multi-use or hike-only. Camping will be available on the property and with the new park, should come more opportunities and amenities for riders.
